The city of Rabat lives to the rhythm of the Festival.it au rythme du Festival.
For 4 days, the Hassan district vibrates day and night to the rhythm of the festival’s activities, contributing significantly to the local economy and the development of businesses and hotels.
The city of Rabat, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, already boasts a number of cultural attractions, including the Archaeological Museum, the Villa des Arts, the Renaissance Cinema, the 7th Art Cinema, the National Library of the Kingdom of Morocco, the Bank Al-Maghrib Museum and, more recently, the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, inaugurated in autumn 2014, not to mention the many cultural institutes in the city. Some venues combine cultural heritage and the environment, such as the Kasbah des Ouadayas and the Chellah archaeological site, which hosts the annual Jazz au Chellah festival. Visa For Music has contributed to the enhancement of these sites through the activities it offers.
By showcasing the region’s artistic dynamism on stage, Visa For Music has a positive influence on the image of the region, which is all too often portrayed in the media only to highlight the most tragic situations. On the contrary, through Visa For Music, for four days Rabat becomes the capital of a cosmopolitan and diverse region that proudly embraces and displays this richness. This enhancement of the region’s image also has a positive socio-economic impact, strengthening the city’s tourist vocation and creating jobs.
The Visa For Music project is part of this approach to developing and diversifying the city’s cultural offering by offering a major 4-day event once a year, which in its 7 editions has brought together over 5,700 professionals and 39,000 spectators from all over the world to see the 500 artists who are the pride of our region perform on stage.
The economic impact of national and international artists and professionals coming to Visa For Music can be measured by the consumer spending involved (accommodation, meals, miscellaneous purchases, souvenirs, etc.).
It goes without saying that businesses specializing in the sector (hotels, tourist attractions, restaurants, etc.) are the first to benefit from the implementation of a local cultural project of this scale.
In addition to the direct target audience of the Visa For Music project, i.e. music industry professionals and artists, the event may also encourage tourists to choose this destination at this time of year for its concert appeal. For tourists in general
– The kingdom’s administrative capital has strengthened its position as a tourist destination and consolidated its cultural dimension, especially in terms of content creation and diversification.
Visa For Music succeeded in attracting new audiences, young and old, to the evening showcases at a time when tourism is not at its best (early autumn).
